Mike Plisky of Aviara Real Estate has been recognized for his continued contributions by being named Realtor of the year. Plisky, the 2005 president of the Conejo Valley Association of Realtors, has a long list of accomplishments, in addition to community service, that have earned him this honor. He has been a member of the association since 1989 and has served in various ways, including acting as a board of directors officer, treasurer, chairman of many committees and participating on the membership, scholarship and bylaws committees.

As the president of the Newbury Park High School Band Boosters, Plisky was successful in raising the money needed to take the marching band to a competition in Hawaii. Plisky also has traveled to Mexico with other volunteers from St. Julie's Catholic Church to build homes for those in need. Plisky is a past member of the Big Brothers Association and was voted "Big Brother of the Year" in 1991.
