Dog owner was negligent

I am writing regarding the Nov. 23 article for Critter Corner. I can't believe you would publish "Losing Jackie." Brian Mattson of Oak Park should be ashamed of himself for not checking out the area in which he lives.

Everyone knows we have coyotes and to let a dog run at first light is absurd. My cat was grabbed off the front porch at noon.

Oak Park has a leash law. Of course that must not apply to him as it doesn't for so many that moved in here.

I feel sorry for Jackie, but Brian should not be expecting sympathy for his foolishness, and he should not get another pet.
