Free symposium will address healthy heart, treatments

A free public education program on the prevention of heart disease will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Feb. 10 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Two Dole Drive, Westlake Village.

The symposium will cover the causes and risk factors that contribute to heart disease, diagnostic and treatment options, and practical preventive strategies the public can use to reduce the risk of cardiac problems.

Speakers will include cardiac medical and surgical specialists and the director of nutrition for the California Wellbeing Institute.

"The Ventura Heart Institute has always believed that the best treatment of heart disease is its prevention," said Dr. Irv Loh, medical director of the institute and symposium organizer, "and given all the information and misinformation out there, we hope this program can help the public sort out what they need to know."

Space is limited. To register, call (805) 497-4424.
