Kindermusik sign-ups begin

Registration is underway for Kindermusik with Marina classes at the Agoura Hills Dance and Performing Arts Center, where parents and their children- ages newborn to 5 years old- sing, dance and make music together to develop better learning skills for the child.

A second class location in Thousand Oaks is coming soon.

"For a child, being ready for preschool is about feeling comfortable with yourself," said Pogosyan, who operates the Kindermusik program at the Agoura Hills center. "Then they have the confidence to leave mom and dad at home and get involved with what's going on in preschool."

According to Pogosyan, studies show that music has a positive impact on a child's ability to learn. In addition to preparing a child for preschool, making and responding to music can help a child use scissors, kick a ball and make a positive impact on a child's sense of selfesteem and self-expression.

Kindermusik classes are designed by music and early childhood educators.
