Former WHS soccer star named All-American Sienna Kluck-Escoto played extremely well for the women's soccer team at Ventura Junior College this year. This weekend, Kluck-Escoto will be honored for her play when she receives an award for being named to the 2006 NSCAA/Adidas Women's Junior College Division III AllAmerica Second Team. According to KluckEscoto's head coach at Ventura College, Steve Hoffman, only 24 players are named to the team out of approximately 400 community college women's soccer program's around the country. She becomes part of a group of seven girls at Ventura College who have been named AllAmericans. "I first watched her play as a 12-year-old and my opinion has never changed of her," Hoffman said. "She is a great goal-scoring soccer player and a terrific young person." During her career at VJC, Kluck-Escoto put up staggering numbers by scoring 47 goals in 46 games. She also recorded 18 assists to put her scoring total at 112 points, a Ventura Junior College record. Kluck-Escoto's performance helped lead Ventura to its 11th straight Western State Conference Championship. Besides the award she'll receive this week in Indianapolis, Ind., Kluck-Escoto, who played locally at Thousand Oaks and Westlake high schools, has been nominated for the Ventura College Female Student Athlete of the Year award. |
