Conejo Players opens 'Angel Street' auditions

Conejo Players Theatre will have auditions for "Angel Street" at 7:30 p.m. Sun. through Tues., Jan. 21 to 23

The audition will be a cold reading from the script, but actors may also perform a prepared monologue. No appointment is necessary. There is no pay.

First produced as "Gaslight," "Angel Street" tells the story of a husband who is slowly torturing his wife into insanity under the guise of kindness. The wife is visited by "Rough" from Scotland Yard who is convinced that the husband is a maniacal criminal wanted for murder.

The roles being cast are: Mr. Manningham, 35 to 45, tall and good-looking; Mrs. Manningham, 28 to 35, once a beauty but with a haggard appearance; Elizabeth, 50, amiable, subservient, with a lowerclass accent; Nancy, 19, selfconscious, pretty and cheeky; Rough, 35 to 60, graying, short, wiry and overbearing.

The show runs April 13 through May 12, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. on April 15 and May 6.

The theater is at 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. For more information, call (805) 983-2016.
