Bring Bruno back

After reading two Acorn editorials and the overwhelmingly negative responses regarding the reorganization of the Westlake Village City Council, we felt that it was incumbent upon us to write and express our feelings.

After talking to a large number of Westlake citizens, many in favor of Lowe's, who felt that it was a shameful act to break a 25-year tradition by not electing the mayor pro-tem, Jim Bruno, for mayor, the perception was that this rejection was an act of spitefulness and vindictiveness because the majority of the council were in favor of Proposition Z.

In order to unify our city and extend the olive branch, the fair and appropriate action would be for the City Council to rescind its original decision and renominate and elect Jim Bruno for mayor. Phillipa Klessig, the mayor pro tem, would remain as mayor pro tem.

Remember, it's never too late to right a wrong.
