Valley Interfaith Council to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

The Valley Interfaith Council will host the 19th annual Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration on Mon., Jan. 15 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 15950 Chatsworth St., Granada Hills.

Refreshments will be served at 5 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m. Music will be provided by several local choirs and the Peacemaker Drum Circle.

Keynote speaker is Jack DuVall, president and founding director of the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict. He was the executive producer of the Emmy-nominated PBS television series, "A Force More Powerful" and co-author of the companion book.

The Valley Interfaith Council brings together individuals and congregations of many different faiths and secular organizations in interfaith action and advocacy to alleviate human social needs in the valley.
