Human resource pros to meet

The Ventura County affiliate of the National Human Resources Association will host guest speaker Ron Elsdon, PhD, at the organization's monthly membership meeting on Wed., Jan. 24 at the Los Robles Golf Course Events Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

Registration and networking will be from 7 to 7:30 a.m., followed by breakfast and program from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

Elsdon will speak on "Building Affiliation," the first topic in a yearlong series on "Strategic HR." He will discuss how to build an inspired, committed organization by effective workforce development at the systems level, by building affiliation at the individual level and by strong leadership practices that tie both together.

Elsdon is a founder of Elsdon Organizational Renewal and New Beginnings Career and College Guidance. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience at diverse organizations and has been an adjunct faculty member at several universities. He is the author of "Affiliation in the Workplace: Value Creation in the New Organization."

The cost is $25 for members, $37 for nonmembers and $22 for In Transition.
