Teachers invited to Holocaust Education Workshop The 24th annual teacher training workshop "The Relevance of Teaching the Holocaust in the 21st Century" will be offered for educators and other interested parties on four consecutive Thursdays from 4:15 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22 with an optional fifth session on March 1. Sess i o n s will be at the A n t i D e f a mation League office, 10495 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles and at the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance, also in Los Angeles. The workshop offers opportunities to learn from distinguished scholars and survivors' eyewitness accounts. The course is designed for middle and high school levels, but elementary school teachers are also welcome. The five workshops are: The Importance of Holocaust Education; From Forced Emigration to Mass Extermination; Museum of Tolerance as a Resource; Translation in the Classroom and Contemporary Challenges; and Never Again? Genocide Today. Registration fee is $65 before Jan. 20 and $75 a f t e r. Fee includes a kosher dinner a n d learning materials. Educators completing the workshop are entitled to salary points from Los Angeles Unified School District and in-service credit from the Bureau of Jewish Education and may receive university extension units from California State University.
