Psychiatrist to speak on post-traumatic stress

Dr. Judith Broder will be the featured speaker for the Global Exchange Ventura County Supporters from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wed., Jan. 24 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks. This is a free public program. Broder, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with a private practice in Los Angeles, will discuss posttraumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, conditions that affect the lives of U.S. soldiers, their families and their friends.

Nearly two years ago, Broder and a group of her colleagues established the Soldiers' Project, a program to treat American soldiers who've served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Free psychological services are provided.

Founded in 2003, the Global Exchange Ventura County Supporters is a group of people dedicated to providing monthly public forums and supporting and working with other like-minded local organizations.
