Singer and chamber musician will present solo piano program

Galina Barskaya, soloist and chamber musician, will present a solo piano program at 2 p.m. Sun., Jan. 21 at the Sepulveda Unitarian Universalist Society, “The Onion,” at 9550 Haskell Ave., North Hills. The concert is part of the Festival of Music Concert Series.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and $10 for seniors and students 18 and under. Parking is free.

The program will include Partita No. 1 in B flat major by J.S. Bach; Fantasie in D minor, K397 and Rondo in D major, K485 by W.A. Mozart; Sonata No. 4, Op. 30 by Scriabin; and Nocturne in C sharp minor and Impromptu in A flat major, Op. 29 by F. Chopin.

Barskaya received her master’s degree in music from Kiev State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She is on the music faculty at Occidental College and is music director at Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church in Canoga Park.
