Kidding aside, teachers should be commended

We read the letter in the Dec. 21 issue by Mr. William O. Felsman. We were so touched by the man's poetic and justified stance of the modern-day teachers of the Conejo Valley. It brought tears to our eyes, reminding us of that great statesman and voice of reason from the '70s, Archie Bunker.

Let us revisit Mr. Felsman's letter, point by point.

Since these lazy, cranky teachers make so much money, they are forced to drive gas-guzzling, status-symbol SUVs which help to maintain their lofty status in life. To draw attention away from these high-pollution vehicles, they were forced to find a scapegoat--our innocent
children--to solidify their arguments. We actually discovered the entire roster of instigating teachers and devil-worshipers have been meeting secretly in underground caves in Malibu. These cave locations are secret and guarded by their union leaders.

These secret meetings are nothing more than scandalous strategy sessions outlining their plot to unilaterally focus the blame for global warming on our precious children and thus leaving no classroom time for what's really important: reading, writing and arithmetic.

In addition, the teachers also unanimously voted to maintain their promotion of homosexuality, devil-worship with emphasis on godlessness, "anti-Christian, anti-Western civilization; anti-family, pro-female but anti-feminine, anti-male, anti-American history; and pro-world government biases and slants to the fullest extent short of provoking objections from the children and the parents."

All kidding aside, Mr. Felsman holds dangerous and insidious points of view that undercut American values. We hope that our teachers will keep doing what they're doing and continue to make us proud of our children's achievements.
