Fundraiser at Skatelab

Skatelab in Simi Valley will host an all-night fundraising event on Sat., Dec. 29 for the National High School Skateboard Association.

The first 100 skateboarders to sign up will be able to enjoy a night filled with food, drinks, competitions, raffles and music.

The event will start at 7 p.m. and won't end until 7 a.m. the following morning.

Friends and family are welcome to attend from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The doors will be locked at 10 p.m. and the skateboarders will be presented with a full night of activities.

The competitions will include: Highest wall ride, highest Ollie, a game of S-K-A-T-E, fly-box best trick and stair-set best trick. A few surprise guests may stop by for a skate session and autograph signings.

In its inaugural year, seven area high school clubs- Agoura, Oak Park, Westlake, Newbury Park, Simi Valley, Royal and Santa Monica- competed in the NHSSA. This season at least 20 club teams will compete.
