      The Oak Park High boys' basketball team has an entirely new look this season. Longtime Eagle head coach Ed Chevalier has retired. He's been replaced by Joey Ramirez, who worked with Chevalier as an assistant last year.

      Tiger Woods began to get a little hot under the collar after his six-shot lead had been whittled down to two strokes during Sunday's final round of the Target World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks.

Westlake Coyotes hungry for a title
     COYOTES CAPTURE ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP- The Westlake Coyotes U-12 baseball club returned to the Simi Youth Thanksgiving Tournament and repeated its U-10 victory from two years ago. Along the way the Coyotes swept teams from Simi Valley, Indian Wells Valley and Moorpark, winning the final against a tough Simi Predators team, 4-3. Fundraiser at Skatelab
      Skatelab in Simi Valley will host an all-night fundraising event on Sat., Dec. 29 for the National High School Skateboard Association. The first 100 skateboarders to sign up will be able to enjoy a night filled with food, drinks, competitions, raffles and music.

Coyote wrestlers take aim at rest of Marmonte
      The Calabasas High wrestling team knows there's a first time for everything. Although the Coyotes have never won a Marmonte League championship, the team believes experience can help in their quest for the program's first title since they moved from the Frontier League in 2000.

Best of Marmonte, Tri-Valley leagues honored
      He's only a junior, but Chris Brown of Newbury Park High is already ahead of the competition. Brown took home the hardware as the Marmonte League's Most Valuable Player last week after rushing for 1,904 yards and 22 touchdowns for the Panthers this season.

Chargers flex their muscle
     BRIAN PIERRO/Acorn Newspapers FAST START- Agoura High's Kevin Graf rips down a rebound during Tuesday night's 70-50 Charger win over Newbury Park. AHS is 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the Marmonte League. The Chargers beat Westlake last Friday for the first time since 2005.
