Christmas Eve service on national television
      CBS and the National Council of Churches will celebrate Christmas Eve with a TV special at Marble Collegiate Church, the nation's oldest Protestant ministry and historic landmark in New York City. The nationwide broadcast, produced by MarbleVision in cooperation with the NCC, is scheduled for 11:30 p.m. PST on Mon., Dec. 24 on participating CBS stations.

Make-A-Wish Foundation wraps up miles campaign
      The MakeAWish Foundation of the TriCounties completed its "Giving Miles, Making Smiles" campaign that ran from Oct. 3 to Dec. 7. Seven different campaigns were run by groups throughout the area, including schools, workplaces, churches and groups of friends.

Temple hosts senior social on Dec. 18
      The Greatest Generation is a social group for nonmembers and members age 60 and up that meets from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Temple Social Hall of Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. The group provides refreshments, entertainment and the opportunity to socialize with new and old friends.
