Oak Park High School Choir to perform
SONGS OF THE SEASON- The Oak Park High School Choir will perform its annual holiday concert tonight on the campus and again at 4 p.m. Fri., Dec. 7 at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks. The choir is directed by Heidi Cissell. The Oak Park High School choir has two events planned this week.
The choir will perform its holiday concert at 7 p.m. today, Thurs., Dec. 6, in the school's Pavilion. The school is at 899 N. Kanan Road.
The concert will feature music of the season, including "Lamentations of Jeremiah" by Randall Stroop and "By Night When Others Soundly Slept," a new composition by Oak Park's choir director, Heidi Cissell, set to the poem by Anne Bradstreet.
The choir will be accompanied by an orchestra comprising Oak Park High students, as well as professional accompanist Roger Wright and guitar students taught by band director Dan O'Brien.
Tickets are $10 at the door. The choir will also perform at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Fri., Dec. 7, at The Oaks mall on W. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.
The performance is free.
