City of Agoura Hills to provide bus transport, reserved seating
      The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services is offering a trip to the Rose Parade on Tues., Jan. 1. The 119th annual Rose Parade theme is "Passport to the World's Celebration." The grand marshal will be famed chef and author Emeril Lagasse.

Accessible playground earns recognition
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers BEST OF L.A.- Gates Canyon Park in Calabasas is among Los Angeles Magazine's favorite neighborhood parks. The publication dubbed Gates Canyon "The Player," citing the universally accessible Brandon's Village playground, shown above, as a chief highlight. The playground, which opened in 2006, features a mini-climbing wall, crawl tubes, a giant Braille clock and play equipment that can be enjoyed by children with disabilities. Gates Canyon Park is at 25801 Thousand Oaks Blvd. near Lupin Hill Elementary School.

      The Agoura Hills Library will serve a Holiday Tea party at 2 p.m. Sat., Dec. 15 at the library, 29901 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills. Children are invited to bring a favorite doll or stuffed animal for an afternoon of stories, tea, cookies and making a craft.

Reyes Adobe expands tour days
      The Reyes Adobe Historical Site will be open for docent-led public tours on the second and fourth Tuesdays and Saturdays of each month from Jan. 8 through March 25. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
