Christmas concert at St. Max
      St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church's department of music will present its sixth annual Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Sun., Dec. 16 in the sanctuary of the church, 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village. Featured performers include the church's adult and youth choirs, small ensemble and liturgical dancers, all with chamber orchestral accompaniment.

      J-SinglesVC is a new group for Jewish singles ages 40 to 60 from Ventura County to the San Fernando Valley.       St. Maximilian Catholic Church will host a kickoff meeting of the Employment Ministry from 10 a.m. to noon Sat., Dec. 15 in room 2 at the church, 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village. The ministry is for people seeking employment or those who have suffered recent job layoffs.

     IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers FRIENDLY SNAPSHOT- Rabbi Eli Laber, director of the Friendship Circle of the Conejo Valley, takes a photo of Allen Green, 4, with Chabad of the Conejo member Brad Wallace dressed up as Hanukkah hero Judah the Macabee at the Friendship Circle Extravaganza on Sunday in Agoura Hills. The celebration allowed special needs children, their Friendship Circle teen mentors, and their families to come together and enjoy Hanukkah crafts, music, and a puppet show.

Resident delivers delicious donuts
     SWEET TRADITION- Agoura Hills resident Helayne Sharon prepares goody baskets in the parking lot at Congregation Or Ami in Calabasas. The traditional Hanukkah sufganiot (jelly donuts) were packed in reusable eco-kosher bags. Volunteers delivered the sweets with guidelines for celebrating the holiday to all of Congregation Or Ami's 311 families. The synagogue is at 26115 Mureau Road, Suite B, Calabasas.
