Sumac sponsors all-grade Sugar Sprint
Children run laps as a benefit
      Students from every grade level at Sumac Elementary School in Agoura Hills participated in a school fundraiser on Thurs., Nov. 1 on the school's soccer field. The event's goal was to raise money for the Sumac Parent Faculty Association that pays salaries for instructor specialists in music, computer, physical education and the school library.

Students raise funds for school damaged in fire
      St. Jude the Apostle School in Weslake Village raised $300 in a "Free Dress for a Dollar Day" as a fundraiser to help Our Lady of Malibu, which had suffered damage due to the recent fires. Student Council officer and eighth-grader Richard Fasani wanted to help the school after he was given a tour of the campus.

Westlake resident receives service award
      Deborah Hang of Westlake Village was named the recipient of the William E. Hamm Outstanding Service Award during California Lutheran University's Community Leaders Association auction on Oct. 27, Hang has provided the organization with leadership and support for 10 years.

      Brandon Mischel of Tarzana and Marisa Leonard of Westlake Village won the Wendy's High School Heisman Award on behalf of Viewpoint School in Calabasas.

'Grease' is the word at A. E. Wright school
      The A. E. Wright Middle School drama club will present the musical "Grease" for two more shows, 7 p.m. Fri., Nov. 30 and Sat., Dec. 1 at Class Act Theatre, 5345 Wilhemina Ave., Woodland Hills. The show is directed by Yarvi Sponko. Principal roles of Sandy and Danny are played by Heavyn Jackson, Wylie Hays, Meg Graham and Ryan Rosenheim.
