Christmas trees go on sale Saturday

The Triunfo YMCA will be selling Christmas trees for their eighth holiday season.

Their tree lot will be open from Dec. 1 to 23 on the southeast corner of Kanan and Agoura roads in Agoura Hills. Hours are 3 to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends.

Proceeds from the lot help support teen programs and provide financial aid to families who would not otherwise be able to afford to participate in YMCA activities.

YMCA volunteers and high school students from the YMCA Youth and Government program will sell the trees. As in years past, a "Giving Tree" will be on the lot where visitors may make cash donations toward the purchase of Christmas trees for families in need. Each year, these donations enable the YMCA to provide between 15 and 25 trees to local families.

"The donations go directly to help families celebrate Christmas," said Chrissy Withers, Triunfo YMCA program director. It's great to see the community come together to help their neighbors."
