Hanukkah events announced
      Chabad of the Conejo will present a number of events to celebrate Hanukkah. •Throughout the week leading up to Hanukkah, Chabad representatives will visit local Jewish schools and senior homes with olive press demonstrations. The workshop is a handson presentation of how olive oil, a symbol of the holiday, is made.

      California Lutheran University will present its fifth annual Hanukkah Celebration at 4:30 p.m. Wed., Dec. 5 in the Student Union Building on the campus at 60 W. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks. Hanukkah begins at sundown Dec. 4.

      Halle Lorkis was called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Oct. 20 at Temple Etz Chaim, 1080 Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. She is the daughter of Lisa and Scott Lorkis of Agoura Hills and an eighthgrade student at Lindero Canyon Middle School.

Clergy hold joint worship service
     JOINING HANDS- Leaders of several local churches and temples come together to hold an interfaith Thanksgiving service last week at St. Judes Catholic Church in Westlake Village.
