Dogs lend an ear to young readers
      THERAPY PUPPIES- Calabasas resident Troy West, 4, reads a book out loud to Clifford, a therapy dog with Paws 4 Healing, at the Calabasas Library on Saturday. Troy gets a ittle help from handler Claudine Singer. The program allows children to read aloud to a therapy dog for 15 minutes.

Owner hopes loss of pet brings change
      On Friday night, Oct. 12, a coyote came into our yard and killed our 1½-year-old dog, a Coton de Tulear named Oliver, who we had rescued last January. A neighbor had heard something, come out of his house and scared a coyote away by shining a flashlight at it.

Neighborhood charmer
      LOVE THAT FACE- Eddee, a 2-year-old English bulldog, unwittingly brings the community together. "People always smile when they see Eddee," said owner Gillian Peratis. She and her family have lived in the Liberty Canyon neighborhood of Agoura for about 10 years but didn't get to meet many neighbors until they got the pooch.
