A salute to our veterans
      Maybe you know somebody who served in America's armed forces. If you appreciate what they did for our country, let them know about it. Sun., Nov. 11 is the traditional Veterans Day and Monday will be a holiday for schools, banks and government offices. Originally called Armistice Day, the holiday was created to observe Nov.

Early deadlines set for Nov. 22 and 23 editions
      Thanksgiving on Thurs., Nov. 22 forces the Acorn Newspapers into early deadlines for the issue dates of Nov. 22 and 23. Letters to the editor, press releases and real estate ads must be received or reserved by noon Thurs., Nov. 15. Display advertising must be reserved by noon Fri., Nov. 16.
