Viewpoint School in Calabasas said hello to 11th-grader Lukas Bielskis, an exchange student from Lithuania. Bielskis is attending the school in 2007-08 through the American Secondary Schools for International Students and Teachers program.

Bielskis is especially interested in math, physics, and chemistry. In his home country he was a correspondent for his school's newspaper and a member of the debate team. He studied karate for seven years and also has a talent for magic. Recently, he wrote a book, "The Key to the World of Card Magic."

His classes at Viewpoint include AP chemistry, AP statistics, Spanish, filmmaking, and outdoor education.

"I'm really enjoying the hiking that we do in outdoor education," Bielskis said. "We don't have any mountains in Lithuania, so I haven't done much hiking. At Viewpoint, I'm experiencing many things I've never experienced before."

Bielskis is residing with the Shevin family of Calabasas, parents of 11th-grader Jesse.
