Thanks to Relay for Life parade participants We would like to thank everyone who participated in and supported our Relay For Life presentation in the Reyes Adobe Days Parade. Not only did over 60 volunteers show up bright and early on Saturday morning, amid blustery and inclement weather, to play their roles in the entry, but they showed up with smiles, enthusiasm and an abundance of energy. Participants and spectators alike- everyone exemplified the Relay spirit: no one is alone in the fight against cancer. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event and its focus is all about community and the power that we have to make a difference. The outpouring of support and camaraderie between all of the Relay For Life participants during the Reyes Adobe Days Parade was priceless. This community's dedication and spirit in supporting not only our parade entry, but in embracing the spirit of giving back was heartening. Breanna Pflaumer, a Moorpark High student, along with her mom and dad, Tom and Terri, joined the many volunteers in our efforts to show our community that the Agoura Relay For Life is here to support them. Breanna is 17 and is currently battling brain cancer. Her spirit is triumphing over this disease. The positive attitude of her family members and their willingness to support surrounding communities is making an enormous impact. The Agoura Relay For Life is May 3 to 4, 2008 at Willow Elementary School. Again, thank you to everyone who played a part in our entry and who cheered us on from the sidelines. You are our inspiration and we look forward to seeing you and your teams at an amazing 2008 Relay For Life! Kiran Vashishta Jenni Campbell Agoura Relay Parade Committee |
