Coyotes close in on another tennis title
      Officially, there are eight high school girls' tennis teams competing in the Marmonte League. But realistically, it's Calabasas High and everyone else. De Jesus commits to S.F. State
      Westlake High senior pitcher Ryan De Jesus has made a verbal commitment to play baseball at San Francisco State. During his junior season for the Warriors, De Jesus, a 6foot2, 175-pound left-hander, was 1-2 with a 3.41 ERA in 28.2 innings of work. He struck out 14 batters and walked seven.

Team effort has Lions primed for water polo glory
      Agoura High may be ranked No. 1 in the CIFSouthern Section Division IV boys' water polo coaches' poll, but there's a team just around the corner trying to catch them. Four miles away, to be exact. With a 145 overall record, including a 50 mark in the TriValley League, Oaks Christian has ascended to the No. 3 spot in Division IV.

      A SWING AND A DRIVE- Westlake's Charlotte Gibson crushes a shot during last week's first Marmonte League Tournament at Simi Hills Golf Course. Gibson shot a 40 on the afternoon to help lead the Warriors to victory with a total team score of 211.

      Westlake (3-3) at Simi Valley (4-2) Outlook: Contenders or pretenders- this matchup will be a true measuring stick for the Simi Valley football team. The Pioneers, particularly their defense, looked great during recent wins over Moorpark and Calabasas, but struggled in a loss at Agoura.
