Baird, Klezek pace AHS girls' cross country team
      They are the backbone of the rejuvenated Agoura High girls' cross country team. Erin Baird, the ultra-talented senior who overcame a frustrating bout with anemia last year, and Katie Klezek, a happygolucky junior whose positive vibrations reverberate throughout her entire team, have helped the Chargers sprint out to a 5-0 record in the Marmonte League.

Fundraiser for WHS baseball
      The Westlake High baseball program will host its annual golf fundraiser on Mon., Nov. 5 at North Ranch Country Club. Tee time for the event is set for 10:30 a.m. There will also be a dinner and silent auction from 4 to 6 p.m.

      The Pacific Youth Football League continues to prosper after 15 years. With almost 4,000 players on 140 teams throughout much of the southland, the PYFL is an independent, nonprofit football league for players ages 7 to 14.

      BIG WIN FOR OPHS- With a four-game victory at Oaks Christian Tuesday night, the Oak Park High girls' volleyball team, with junior outside hitter Inga McManus, above, is now tied for first place in the Tri-Valley League. Oak Park (12-4, 5-1 in league) got past Oaks Christian (1022, 51) by scores of 1425, 2624, 25-23 and 25-15.

Simi Valley Pioneers (3-2) at Calabasas Coyotes (1-4) Friday, 7 p.m.
      After four long years, Calabasas High football fans finally have a reason to celebrate. Three weeks ago, CHS ended a 44-game losing streak when it beat Channel Islands High 2814 on the road. Tomorrow night the Coyotes will play in front of their home fans for the first time since the win when they host Simi Valley at 7 p.m.
