Readers weigh in on LVUSD's board I have two students in the Las Virgenes Unified School District and am very excited about a candidate for school board that has earned my vote. Jill Gaines has proven her leadership skills districtwide by cochairing the successful passage of Measure G and as an officer on the Las Virgenes Education Foundation. Jill was a teacher and has run a very profitable business. And she has donated countless hours to school issues as a PFC President. We are so fortunate when individuals as qualified and experienced as Jill Gaines offer to run for school board. Let's support her. I am also wholeheartedly endorsing incumbent Terilyn Finders because of her excellent track record and her commitment to strengthening health and emergency services at all schools. Mary Sue Maurer Calabasas mayor pro tem I have been an active volunteer in our schools for years and have found Terilyn Finders to be an accessible, informed and dynamic leader. As a member of the board of education, Terilyn is always available to listen and study issues on behalf of our schools and students. Join me in voting for Terilyn Finders. Lesli Stein Agoura Hills As a parent, active PFC volunteer and former educator, I support Jill Gaines for the LVUSD school board. Jill Gaines brings a strong fiscal background, along with leadership experience as cochair of Measure G, Chaparral PFC president and treasurer of the Las Virgenes Education Foundation, to this crucial position. As school funding faces substantial cuts, we need an advocate to support the quality programs which have contributed so much to our children's educations as well as to the welldeserved reputation of the school district.
