Monarchs' athletes win in tourneys
      Two elite-level gymnasts from Monarchs National Gymnastics Training Center competed in the U.S. Challenge in Battle Creek, Mich. in July. It was the first time gymnasts from the Conejo Valley attended the competition. Monarchs was represented by sisters Carinne, 12, and Alyssa Gale, 14, of Simi Valley.

      The Westlake Agoura Girls Softball Association (WAGS) has opened registration for the 2008 spring season on its website, www.wags411.org. Offering play for girls age 4 and a half to 16, WAGS is one of the largest girls' softball leagues in Southern California.
