Families who walk to school follow correct path

IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers HAPPY FEET-- Matt Gross of Calabasas escorts his sons, Josh and Sam, both 6, to Bay Laurel Elementary School during International Walk to School Day yesterday. The local event, sponsored by the Calabasas Traffic and Transportation Department, School Area Traffic Safety Committee and Las Virgenes Unified School District, encouraged students from Bay Laurel, Lupin Hill and Chaparral elementary schools and A.C. Stelle Middle School to hoof it to school. The hope is that walking will give children a sense of community while offering them some exercise as well. Who knows? Maybe a few of them will flex their muscles on their way to school again tomorrow.
