Squirrel of the Month
     FREEZE FRAME- Agoura Hills resident Debbie Bitterly met this little fellow while visiting Sequoia National Forest, next to the upper Kern river. Bitterly said the Douglas squirrel "paused long enough in his chattering" to pose for the photo.

Man in hat deserves pat on the back
     RESCUE RANGER- Gary, a 2-year-old Abyssinian, looks none too happy as he is rescued by a Ventura County firefighter last week. Gary, who is named after SpongeBob SquarePants' pet snail, was stuck in the tree for several hours in the hot sun before firefighters brought the hook and ladder to reach him. Gary lives with David and Joslyn Stuart in Westlake Village.
