Boys & Girls Clubs expands in Conejo Valley

      Eighth-grader Johnny Hadzipetros carefully looked over his grand opening speech, handwritten in pencil on looseleaf paper. He had nothing to worry about. After all, Johnny was the first Boys & Girls Club member at Colina Middle School, having joined in early 2006. He knew what he was talking about.

Chabad celebrates holidays
      Chabad will celebrate the holidays of Sukkot and Simchat Torah with services, festivals and Hakafot dancing through Fri., Oct. 5. St. Max Church to host festival

      Several local high school seniors were named as semifinalists in the 53rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The semifinalists advance to the finalist level where about half will be selected as Merit Scholarship winners next spring.

Super Smash Bros. tournament
      The Agoura Hills Library will present a Super Smash Bros. Melee Tournament for teens from 1 to 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 29 at 29901 Ladyface Court, Agoura Hills.
