'The Office' star to serve as grand marshal for Reyes Adobe Days Parade

Rainn Wilson Rainn Wilson The city of Agoura Hills announced that the grand marshal for the third annual Reyes Adobe Days Parade is celebrity resident Rainn Wilson, who earned a Best Supporting Actor Emmy nomination for his role of Dwight Schrute on "The Office" television series.

The Reyes Adobe Days Parade begins at 10 a.m. Sat., Oct. 13 at Forest Cove and Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A preparade extravaganza, Bonanza on the Boulevard, will begin at 8:30 a.m. where spectators can enjoy circus-style activities.

The approximate 1-mile procession will travel along Thousand Oaks Boulevard and end at the Reyes Adobe Historical Site, 5464 Reyes Adobe Road, to kick off Day at the Adobe from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with cultural family activities, demonstrations, music, museum tours, fine art exhibit and more.

Also in the parade will be the Miss Reyes Adobe court, equestrians, floats, antique autos, bands and drill teams, clubs, organizations and more. Entrants will be judged to receive awards.

The deadline for joining the parade is 4 p.m. Fri., Sept. 28. For applications with entry requirements, call the Agoura Hills Recreation Center at (818) 597-7361.

Wilson has appeared in several television series as well as in feature films including "The Last Mimzy," "My Super Ex Girlfriend" and "Sahara."

Wilson, his wife, Holiday Reinhorn, a fiction writer, and their son Walter Mckenzie enjoy calling the area home.

"We love this town. Horses, hills, friendly folks. What's not to like?" said Wilson.
