String music concert supports high school
      The Calabasas High School Music Boosters will host a benefit recital with the New Hollywood String Quartet at 4 p.m. Sun., Sept. 23 at a private home in Calabasas. The quartet consists of Roberto Cani on first violin, Rafael Rishnik on second violin, Robert Brophy playing viola and Andrew Shulman on cello. Janet Crouch Shulman is the guest cellist.

Caroline Aiken to perform at Bodie House
Singer, songwriter plays piano and guitar
      Musician Caroline Aiken will perform in concert at 8 p.m. Sat., Oct. 13 at the Bodie House in Agoura Hills. Aiken has performed all over the U.S. and in Europe. She will be a headliner this year at the Moab Music Festival. She is a singer/songwriter who plays guitar and piano. She has recorded and appeared with The Indigo Girls and Bonnie Raitt.

      California Lutheran University has received a $1,800 grant from The French American Cultural Exchange to host a free French film festival. "The Tournées Festival: New French Films on the CLU Campus" will feature five awardwinning movies in September and October.
