Upcoming events of Calabasas Chamber

•The Calabasas Chamber of Commerce will host a Pumpkin Festival Kickoff Mixer today, Thurs., Sept. 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Acura 101 West, 24650 Calabasas Road. The event will include raising "Punky" to the dealership rooftop.

Participants can meet the new Acura 101 West management team, general manager Ken Zelada and general sales manager Julius Levitch.

Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. Reservations are requested.

•A Chamber luncheon is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 27 at the Calabasas Country Club, 4515 Park Entrada.

The guest speaker will be Donald Zimring, superintendent of the Las Virgenes Unified School District. His topic is "The state of education in California."

Attendees may meet the education committee and learn how the business community is partnering with the local schools to help develop future business leaders, as well as welcoming the Calabasas Bowling Tournament champions, the Texaco Xpress Lube "Strikers," who won the Cal Cup and helped raise funds for the Chamber's Awards and Scholarship Program.

Admission is $30 for members and $35 for nonmembers and those without reservations. Country Club dress code forbids jeans, denim, T-shirts, gym/athletic wear and cellphones.
