      MEDALS- The Conejo Valley United Soccer Club Girls U-13 team brings home the most points overall and go undefeated in pool play during the Camino Real Thousand Oaks Classic 2007 soccer tournament. The championship game resulted in a second-place overall award for the team.

      THEY'RE GRRRREAT- The Agoura Tigers celebrate their win in the Mid-Valley Labor Day Tournament in the under-10 group. The players are: Kai Gomez, Ben Baird, Brandon Shearer, Brandon Lowe, Hayden Luff, Austin Kratchovil, Sean Fitzwilliam, Mike Osborn, Justin Gastwirth and Ky Feldman. Armando Gomez is the team manager, assisted by Dave Baird and Mike Shearer.

      HIGH RANK- Jordyn Morris, 9, proudly displays her second degree black belt. Jordyn, a fifth-grade student at Lupin Hill Elementary School, began studying tae kwon do when she was 4 years old and earned her first degree black belt at 7. Jordon also dances and is goal keeper on the Barcelona Soccer U10 girls team.

The Acorn's High School Football Game of the Week
Royal Highlanders (0-1) vs. Oak Park Eagles (1-0) Friday, 7 p.m.
      Prior to the start of the season, many critics were quick to point out that Oak Park High's football team had one of the best defenses in the area. Last week in its first game of the year, that defense didn't disappoint.

      After finishing with a record of 20-5 last year, the Westlake High girls' volleyball team is back for another run at the Marmonte League title this season. Unlike league powerhouses Thousand Oaks High and Moorpark High, the Warriors, with few returnees, feature a largely inexperienced team.
