Willow Elementary celebrated the start a new school year with the purchase of four new recycling collection bins.

The Kids FACE (Kids for A Clean Environment) Club has added the new bins to enhance its recycling program at the school. Altogether, Willow has seven recycling bins throughout the school campus.

Water bottles and aluminum cans are collected for redemption. Staff, teachers and students are encouraged to dispose of their empty recyclables in the bins.

Willow also has a onceamonth recycling collection day when students and parents can turn in their recycling collected at home. Last year, Willow collected almost 1,600 pounds of recyclables. This year Willow will also collect empty jet ink cartridges on collection days.

All the money received from the recyclables supports the Kids FACE club. The environmental group uses the money to fund their guest lecturers and programs, charitable donations and a onceayear environmentalthemed field trip.
