Don't forget the deadline for The Acorn's "Fiction in a Nutshell" contest is Aug. 24.

In 100 words or less, write a short fiction story and e-mail it to newstip@theacorn.com. You may also send it by mail to the address on page 4A. Include your name, address, age and phone number.

You'll be judged on writing, creativity and topic. Remember, fiction only. Nothing from the real world! And no more than 100 words.

Under18 and over18 winners will be announced Sept. 6 and will receive a $50 prize.
