Valedictorian wins scholarship

Stephanie Green of Agoura Hills has been awarded the 200708 California Grocers Association Educational Foundation Bernard Briskin Scholarship for $5,000.

Green will attend Stanford University this fall and major in human biology.

In high school Green was the class valedictorian, a National Honor Society member and a member of the California Scholarship Federation.

Foundation scholarships are awarded to college students who are either employees or dependents of employees of CGA member companies, such as Gelson's Markets.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, outstanding character and leadership potential. This year the foundation presented 241 scholarships totaling $285,000.
