      Early Saturday morning on July 28, Or Ami parents and teens gathered at the Mervyn's store in Canoga Park to help foster children choose new clothes for the new school year. Temple volunteers chaperoned young children through the store aisles to pick out appropriate clothing.

      The Friendship Circle of the Conejo Valley has announced the appointment of Rabbi Eli Laber of Chicago, Ill., as its new fulltime director. Laber's wife, Rochel (nee Bryski), will assist in program development for the children and teenage volunteers.

1,500 people expected to attend services
      Chabad of the Conejo will host High Holiday services in the Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza. Rosh Hashanah will be celebrated starting Wednesday evening, Sept. 12 and Yom Kippur begins Friday evening, Sept. 21.
