Students learn from pros
      Michael Womack, a junior at Agoura Hills High School, was chosen as one of 32 teens nationwide to attend the Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation's annual summer camp, Noise!, in July at Cal State Northridge. He received a full camp scholarship.

T.O. Montessori school to host open house
      Peace Montessori Elementary School will host an open house for families from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., July 28 at 3415 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks. Teachers and program leaders will give classroom tours, review the curriculum and materials. Dianne and Philip Rammon, music directors, will give an introduction to stringed instruments.

Key lessons
      Sheri Reingold, a teacher of the Australian-developed Simply Music program, has students ages 6 to adult playing contemporary, blues and classical music from their very first lessons. Reingold is holding free introductory sessions through August and is offering a special five-year anniversary discount to people of all ages who reserve a space by Aug. 24.

Student on the move
     HOLE IN ONE- Carson Caccamise, a Lindero Canyon School seventhgrader, is ranked No. 1 in his district for golf. Carson recently played in the California State Golf Championship and World Qualifier at Brookside Golf Course No. 1 in Pasadena. The 12-year-old golfer finished among the top 20 in the state.

Young actor takes on a monster role
     SCARY ROLE- Nicholas Purdin of Westlake Village hams it up as the Beast in the Camp Broadway Bound Production of "Beauty and the Beast." Sign up to be a Cheetah
      The Calabasas Cheetahs track team will hold sign-ups for its 2007 cross country running season on Wed. and Thurs., Aug. 1 and 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Calabasas High School. Youths ages 5 to 15 years old are welcome.
