Unhappy with the liberal media

This is regarding Patricia Ahmad's letter (July 19). It's all in how you view things, because I feel the media is biased, but on the liberal side.

Both the Republican and Democratic parties will do whatever it takes to get the American vote. I was Democratic, but changed to Republican after 9/11. I felt that the Republicans would do whatever it took to protect Americans from another 9/11. I am all for the Patriot Act and the NSA eavesdropping program because I'm not a terrorist. I don't mind having some of my liberties taken away if it will prevent my family from being blown up by terrorists.

When you are speaking about dishonesty with this Republican administration, there was plenty of dishonesty when we had a Democratic administration, too. Sadly, it seems to be part of the job, which the American people seem to have blinders on as long as it's the political party they want in office.

Also, securing our borders is a security issue and should not be a political issue. When it comes to our security, I don't think it should be a Republican or Democratic issue, but an American issue. Ann Lalo Westlake Village
