Missed the point on Michael Moore

I don't know where to begin with the cartoon of Michael Moore by "Wild" Bill printed in the July 18 Acorn. It offends on so many levels.

Moore is fat, and thus presumably unhealthy. Why is that funny? Fat people are often in need of healthcare, and I have heard that quite a number of Americans are obese besides Mr. Moore. Why wouldn't fat people, including Moore, have a right to investigate and speak out on our healthcare system? The "perfect specimen of health" would probably have the least experience and authority on healthcare, not the most.

The cartoon drawing of Moore with his big hook nose and dark hair and eyebrows, and what appears to be a black mustache and black beard stubble (which Moore does not physically have), are reminiscent of the Nazi propaganda against Jews in World War II, that I have seen in my history books in school, or current Middle East terrorists.

Why would anyone demonize Moore for making a film about healthcare in this country? The tone of this cartoon is meanspirited and senseless, not funny or enlightening, in my opinion. Denise Nardi Woodland Hills
