Oak Park youth is 'Landmark' volunteer

Lauren Radke Lauren Radke Lauren Radke, 16, of Oak Park is spending two weeks as a Landmark Volunteer at the Wagon Road Camp in Chappaqua, N.Y.

Lauren, daughter of Thomas and Barbara Radke, is part of a group that will aid the Wagon Road staff with camper activities and maintenance projects.

A student at Oaks Christian School, Lauren is a member of the varsity track and field and varsity golf teams. She participates in the Interact Club, the Genocide Awareness Club, the Prefect Board and Girls Dependent on God. She has volunteered with Operation Christmas Child, helping to raise money for the organization, and has participated in Relay for Life, CROP Walk and a 30-hour famine.

Landmark Volunteers, based in Sheffield, Mass., is a nonprofit service organization offering high school students and adults the opportunity to perform community service at institutions throughout the country.

The Wagon Road Camp is a multicultural program offering a variety of experiences to economically disadvantaged children.
