Local foundation will honor two actresses

Ceremony is July 30

The Calabasas-based Lifetime Achievement Foundation will give a Lifetime Achievement award to two actresses, Mariette Hartley and Marcia Wallace, at 7:30 p.m. Mon., July 30 at the Veterans Memorial, 4117 Culver Blvd., Culver City.

Admission is $15, and reservations are required. There is free parking on site.

The foundation honors mentoring, artistic excellence and service to humanity and produces symposia dealing with grief, wellness, ecology and human rights. It also presents scholarships to children who have lost a parent.

Hartley is known for her work with the American Society for Suicide Prevention, and Wallace is a national spokesperson for breast cancer awareness.

Hartley performed in Polaroid commercials with James Garner. She is an Emmy Award-winning actress. She starred in five television series, including the FX series "Dirt," and also in many television movies and feature films. Her new solo stage show is based on her autobiography, "Breaking the Silence."

Wallace performed as Carol on "The Bob Newhart Show," and she won an Emmy as Edna Krabappel on "The Simpsons." Her memoir, "Don't Look Back, We're Not Going That Way," chronicles her stormy life.
