Rotary Club gives Youth Citizenship awards
      Twentyfive local students received Youth Citizenship awards from the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks. The awards were based on submissions by school principals, counselors and teachers noting the students' school and community service and personal characteristics.

Eat pancakes on Father's Day
      The youth of the church will host a Father's Day pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. in Alton Hall on Sun., June 17 at the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, 1049 Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village. The Celebration Singers will perform during the 9 and 10:30 a.m. worship services.

Gardens of the World hosts summer jazz
      Gardens of the World will present its fifth annual jazz concert series from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays, July 22 through Aug. 26 at 2001 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Parking is available on the boulevard. Attendees may bring blankets or lawn chairs. No smoking, pets or glassware are allowed.
