Performance Zone offers means to increase physical fitness The Performance Zone, a Westlake Village performance training center for ages 7 and up, has fine-tuned a concept that has become notably popular across the country. In fact, its success has allowed the business to expand. They have expanded to the city of Moorpark, inside Maverick's health club, and will be opening up a new center in Simi Valley next spring, along with other facilities throughout the Las Vegas area. The center helps youths and adults increase their performance by focusing on all elements of training. They are also home to the first Parisi Speed School in California, which is a national franchise devoted to empowering America's youth through athletic performance training. The facility is more than 11,000 square feet and houses an indoor turf field, professional running track, a complete line of functional training equipment, flat screen televisions, state-of-the-art sound systems, lounge area for parents and professional coaching to help each customer reach his or her desired goals. The Performance Zone has been in business since 1985, but recently had its grand opening in the new Westlake Village facility in December. Its staff is made up of college graduates who have studied in the areas of human performance, exercise physiology and physical therapy. They are also certified through organizations such as the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Parisi Speed School. The Performance Zone's mission is to help increase the quality of life through the enhancement of human performance, regardless of age, gender, occupation or athletic ability. The owner and operator of The Performance Zone, Terry Hudson, said, "Most people think we are a facility just for athletes, but in fact we are for everyone of all ages who wants to increase their level of performance." Hudson said stayathome parents, corporate executives and athletes have the same needs. Everyone wants more energy, stamina and strength to do his or her daily activities better, but most people are still in the same routine of going to a gym instead of training for optimal performance.
