OPHS lacrosse likely to join CIF
      This Tuesday night Oak Park High's lacrosse team may finally be granted its wish to join the CIF. According to OPHS athletic director Dick Billingsley, the Oak Park Unified School District will most likely approve a vote on Tuesday for the lacrosse team to be granted CIF eligibility for the spring of 2008.

CLASS swimmers recognized
      Four CLASS Aquatics swimmers were honored at the Southern California Swimming National Top 16 banquet last month. The swimmers earned their ranking by placing in the top 16 in the nation in the 200-meter medley for the girls' 11-to-12 age group. The honorees were Ariana Peschke, Haley Preston, Abigail Puczkowski and Diana Safa.

Three claim state titles
      Three area athletes won individual titles during last weekend's CIF State Track and Field Championships at Sacramento City College. Cory Primm of Westlake High defended his 800 meter state championship in convincing fashion.

Oak Park runner wins Future Track scholarship
      Lisa Rotenstein of Oak Park High has won the Future Track Running Club of Agoura Hills 2007 Scholarship Competition. Rotenstein participated in four years of track at Oak Park and three summers of cross country. During her senior year, she was the captain of the OPHS track team.

Free football camp being conducted this summer
      The Conejo Valley NIKE SPARQ football combine will take place Sat., Aug. 11 at Calabasas High School. The event is free to participants. Check-in time is from 8 to 10 a.m. High school football players will learn combine training techniques for the 40-yard dash, shuttle drill, vertical jump and bench press.
