Architectural drafting awards to be presented

Scholarships will be given to high school students

The awards ceremony for the 14th annual Architectural Drafting Competition will be at 5 p.m. Wed., May 16 at the Odyssey Banquet Center in Granada Hills.

The Building Industry Association Women's Council, sponsors of the contest, will hand out awards and scholarships to more than 75 local students from seven high schools that participated in the competition.

Last fall students were asked to design a home using a given set of criteria presented in the Computer Aided Design or Hand Drafted format. Students are judged on technical merit, creativity and mostenergy-efficient home. A total of $5,000 in scholarships will be awarded.
